POOL RULES

PLEASE READ THESE RULES CAREFULLY!

UNDERSTAND THEM COMPLETELY AND GO OVER THEM WITH YOUR CHILDREN.
THEY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.

I. USE OF THE POOL

A.         Pool Opening until Memorial Day/Labor Day until Pool Closing

Monday Friday: 9a.m. 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. 8 p.m.

Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day

Monday Friday: 7 a.m. 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. 9 p.m.

Exception: Swim team use between 8:00 a.m. and noon.

B.         Pool gates are to be closed and locked at all times. It is the responsibility of every member to ensure that the gates are closed and locked.

C. Admission is by member key only. **Exception: Swim team members attending swim team practice.

1.         Upon entering the pool every member must sign the gate book and write down their key number.

2.         All guests must be accompanied by a pool member and entered in the guest sign in sheet.

3.         No other member may be admitted without a key on the board.

4.       The Gate Keeper must be a member in good standing who is at least 16 years of age. 5. One key per family-no duplications-replacement charge is $25.00 and is non-refundable.

D. Use of the pool , when open, is available to member families with these exceptions:

1.         Non-swimmers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult member (who is at least 18 years of age).

2.         Swimmers 11 years or older who have passed the test conducted by the lifeguard and whose name is on file with the Gate Keeper and/or Pool Manager, may use the pool without an accompanying adult ONLY when the lifeguard is on duty.

3.         Swimmers MUST leave the pool when the lifeguard shift ends.

4.         Swimmers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all other times.

5. All swimmers must have a companion in the pool while swimming (buddy system) when there is no lifeguard on duty.

E.         If you are between the ages of 16 and 21 you are limited to no more than 2 guests when there is no lifeguard on duty and/or accompanying adult member.

F.          A lifeguard is on duty during summer vacation Monday through Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. When going off duty, the Lifeguard will clear the pool of all children who are under 16 years of age with the exception of those swimmers accompanied by an adult member.

NOTE: Lifeguard hours are subject to minor variations, which will be posted at the pool if conflicts arise in connection with summer school and swim team schedules.

II. SAFETY

A.         The small pool is for the use of NON-SWIMMERS 6 years of age and under.

B.         There shall be NO running, pushing, dunking or throwing people into the pool.

C.         Tampering with pool property or unauthorized handling of pool operational equipment and supplies is not permitted.

D.         Diving board use is limited to one person at a time with no multiple springs, jumping or diving off the sides of the board.

E.         All NON-SWIMMERS in either pool are to be attended by an adult at all times. No one is allowed in the pool ALONE when the Lifeguard is not on duty (Buddy System).

F.          Swimming equipment is limited to fins, goggles. masks and similar equipment. No balls are allowed in the pool at any time unless used in a game organized by the Lifeguard on duty.

G.         Lights must be on for evening swimming.

H.         Only authorized personnel are allowed in the pump house.

I.           Persons should be suitably dressed for sunning and swimming when in the pool enclosure.

J.          NO BIKES, SKATEBOARDS OR SCOOTERS ARE ALLOWED ON THE POOL DECK.

III. GUEST PRIVILEGES

A.         Guests shall be accompanied by an adult member. **Exception: When lifeguard is on duty, members 11 years or older may bring no more than 2 guests 11 years or older, provided member and guest are competent swimmers. These guests must be personally introduced to the Lifeguard, who may require proof that the guest is a competent swimmer.

III. GUEST PRIVILEGES

B.         Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.

IV. HEALTH RULES

A.         The governing rules of the State Board of Health prevail at all times. A copy is posted on the bulletin board.

B.         Everyone is required to remove pins and combs from hair.

C.         No pets allowed-owners are responsible for removing their pets from the premises.

D.         No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises with the exception of special events that have been approved by the Board of Directors.

E.         Food is allowed only in the picnic area and wooden deck. Exception: Food may be eaten on the pool deck during official pool parties authorized by the Board of Directors.

F.          Soft drinks may be consumed on the pool deck, but no breakable containers are allowed in or around the pool area.

G.         No loud music.

H.         No one with an open sore or cut, or wearing a bandage, may use the pool except with approval of the Lifeguard.

I. Members shall be expected to use common decency, good manners, orderly conduct and show regard for one another. Foul language will not be tolerated.

V. ENFORCEMENT OF RULES

A.         It is the duty of the Lifeguard to enforce all rules concerning conduct, safety and welfare of members and their guests. It is also the responsibility of the Lifeguard to put into effect any measures deemed necessary for the protection and general welfare of the members and guests.

B.         The Pool Manager and/or Gatekeeper shall support the Lifeguard in the performance of his/her duties and responsibilities. In the absence of the Lifeguard, the Gatekeeper, and ALL ADULT MEMBERS are responsible for enforcing the pool rules.

C.         If anyone fails to cooperate with the Lifeguard, he/she has the authority to bar that person from the pool and/or premises. In the event of repeated infractions, the Lifeguard will notify the Board of Directors for appropriate action.

D.         Parents are required to familiarize their children with the pool rules and whether present or not, are responsible for their children at all times when using the pool facilities.

E. Serious or repeated violation of pool rules will be brought to the attention of the Board of Directors who will determine the appropriate action necessary.

VI. USE OF THE PICNIC AREA

A.     DAILY USE:

The picnic area may be used by any member family and its guests without prior reservation on a first come first serve basis.

B.      GROUP FUNCTIONS:

1.         Members who wish to reserve the picnic area for small groups, such as birthday parties, may do so by calling the Swim Club Secretary and reserving the back lawn area.

2.         The charge is $50.00 for a maximum of 20 people and $65 for 20 -40 people.

3.         The Secretary must receive the party fee within one week in order to hold the reservation.

4.         Reservations may be for a maximum 4 hour period.

5. No more than 40 people/children may attend with a maximum of 25 children except at the discretion of the Secretary.

6.         Members must hire a certified lifeguard if 10 or more children attend. The lifeguard must meet the state lifeguard regulation and provide proof of certification.

7.         The pool member making the reservation must be present at all times during the function and is responsible for the groups behavior.

8. Adult supervision shall be at least 1 adult per 6 children (anyone under 21 years of age is considered a child). 9. The function must end at pool closing.

C. CLEAN UP:

The area must be cleaned up after each use and all garbage properly disposed of in the dumpster.
